Launched in Summer 2021, we aim to have at least one little library in each neighborhood in the city of Eastvale.

Building community & inspiring tomorrow’s leaders

Dream it.

It all began with an idea by Mayor Jocelyn Yow and Ms. Madeline Johnson. Mayor Yow grew up spending most of her time in the library, which sparked her interest in reading. She set up a little library outside her house in 2018, and has been well-received by her neighbors.

Ms. Johnson, a student at Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, joined local Troop #251G and for her Eagle project, she and a few other troop families collected book donations and built three lending libraries in neighborhoods throughout Eastvale.

Mayor Yow decided to expand upon Ms. Johnson’s Eagle Scout project by ensuring all neighborhoods have at least one little library.

Build it.

eSTEM students building the little libraries

This project is funded by the Eastvale Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and Eastvale Friends of the Library. Each of the libraries was custom built by students at Eastvale Eleanor Roosevelt High School STEM Academy led by Mr. Joseph Martinez.

Grow it.

These little libraries are placed in different neighborhoods throughout the city and are maintained by residents and volunteers.

Together we will help build our community and inspire the next generation of leaders.
